I’m a musician. I don’t make video’s. It said I didn’t have to make a video, and I didn’t want to.

Eugene is absolutely right. To coin a phrase, ‘It’s not about the music anymore’.

It makes me a bit sad really. I spent a hell of a lot of time obsessing over the tinyest details of the mix and arrangement and just generally making this thing as good as I possibly could.

And now all that’s out the window and it’s just about how much support you can gather from your friends and facebook contacts. Yes, I’m doing it too, because I still want to win.

But if I do I won’t feel like it was because I had the best track.

Incidentally just so there’s no confusion, the winner will be the one with the MOST STARS OVERALL at the end of the contest, NOT the one with the highest average rating.

So the ‘down-voting’ others by giving them one star tactic doesn’t work, it actually gives them a higher score (thanks to all those that have been doing this for me!)

You can work it out:
Total stars = No of votes * Average rating

And yes, this does mean I’m currently getting my ass whooped.

I understand exactly where you’re coming from, Colin. At least the new way of determining the winner eliminates the need for petty tactical voting though. Good luck and good work on the track.

virgin, it clearly shows your lack of understanding of music technology that you say this is the most technically advanced of the entries. i think this track, although ok, might have been advanced in 1986. it certainly doesnt hook me in enough to get anywhere in my book.
